Photos of parked cruisers result in lawsuit

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Putnam County man's efforts to take a picture of a West Virginia State Police cruiser illegally parked behind the Kanawha County Judicial Annex led to a confrontation with a state trooper, according to a lawsuit filed Monday.

In the suit, filed in Kanawha Circuit Court, Michael Kidd alleges that he got out of his car to photograph several cruisers that were illegally parked on Goshorn Street between Virginia and Quarrier streets on Sept. 23. One of the police cars took up two handicapped-parking spaces, according to the suit.
